  1. Artificial Intelligence in Production – Pros and Cons
Burt Gidaro and Michael Duboff – Edwards Creative Law

How will Artificial Intelligence change our industry’s reality? How will it affect scriptwriters, hosts, animation, copyright, etc? What are the pros and cons? What would be the best practice moving forward?

  1. Reaching the Kids Audience of Today
Carrie Paupst Shaughnessy and Mark Bishop – marblemedia
Kate Sanagan and Tanya Mason – Sinking Ship Entertainment
Anthony Leo and Andrew Rosen- Aircraft Pictures
Sue Jung – Guru Studio- Moderator

With the new trends in kids media, including gaming, XR experience and social media, how do both new and long standing productions keep reaching the kids’ audience? Three production companies will present their top shows and then have a conversation about how they think children and youth want to watch them. How can we capture their interest and attention, and then retain them and build loyalty?

  1. Brand Building – Building Kids’ Intellectual Properties:
Some of the Challenges of Developing IP In Today’s Content Landscape

    Rick Glankler – Goatfish Agency

While kids are watching more content, their viewing is more fragmented than ever before. How can we adapt content strategies to align with viewing habits?  How can we increase our likelihood of success in creating IP that reaches and resonates with today’s younger audience? What are the ways we can get our shows produced – yet decrease our investment risk?  How can we develop content that will succeed in consumer products? Is building global franchises still possible?

  1. Expanding Kids Media into Games
Ken Faier – Epic Story Media

Gaming is part of the game! How can we take advantage of this hot media? Many existing productions are enjoying great success in this field even though they were first produced for television. How can we turn a production into a game to capture kids interest and attention, then retain them and build loyalty? Epic Story Media has two gaming companies: Freeground that is focused on developing games for Roblox,  and Epic Story Interactive that focuses on games for mobile and for console download. The Roblox game engine is part of their animation process for  YMA Award of Excellence winner Xavier Riddle & the Secret Museum.

How can we do a better job of representing the underrepresented in kids’ content? How can we create authentic stories both from the writing and producing side? How can we support more diverse writers? What resources are available for diverse creators? How far have we come in recent years What is and isn’t working? Some of the communities have succeeded in having careers in our industry while others are showing less interest. How did they succeed?  What role can mentors play?
